A big BEACON thank you!

Montrose-Delta BeaconFest 2017 was a day of good fun and practical information for the boomers and seniors in our community. Thanks to our entertainers, seminar speakers and the 50+ local businesses who set up booths; and most importantly, you, our guests, the event was a tremendous success. More than 1,300 people walked through the doors of the Montrose Pavilion, excited to immerse themselves in a day full of events and resources.

Buffalo Wild Wings, The Chicken Roost and Starvin’ Arvin’s provided guests with delicious food throughout the day.

Beth Williams kicked off entertainment with her interactive performance, accompanied by a bit of yodeling; 8-year-old Clementine Rogers of Fiddle Power charmed audiences alongside her father, Tyson; Danny Agajanian & The Hallelujah Band featuring Ron Koss lit up the crowd with folk favorites and young Morgan Crouse captivated attendees with her guitar and powerful vocals. The Delta Hubwheelers even swung by to mesmerize audiences with their square dancing.

The seminar room hosted a spread of educational presentations, covering topics from volunteering, estate planning and alternative health treatments in an environment crafted especially for seniors, boomers and their families.

As if the seminars, live entertainment and vendor booths weren’t enough, guests were thrilled by the chance to win door prizes every 30 minutes. One lucky winner went home with the grand prize: a trip to Las Vegas.

We also gave away one and two-night stays to Box Canyon Lodge and several Marriott hotels; two round-trip tickets on Roadrunner Stage Lines; soak and spa passes to Orvis Hot Springs and Yampah Spa; and various gift cards from local restaurants. We want to thank all of the vendors who donated the wonderful gifts that made these drawings so exciting.

As is true every year, this year’s BeaconFest wouldn’t have been the same without the friendly support of the vendors who set up booths. Each painted a picture of its own unique offerings to create a fair of local businesses that value being a part of our community.

Thanks to all who attended!
