St. Mary’s Medical Center broke ground on a new Center for Heart and Vascular Health (CV), slated to open in January 2019. The new, 46,316 square-foot center represents a $48.5 million investment in equipment and infrastructure and will be located on the main hospital campus. It will include a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room, a new catheter lab and a complete upgrade of the exist- ing CV medical suite. The center will enable heart patients to receive care in Grand Junction rather than having to travel to get treatment, significantly elevating patient care across the region. As part of this expansion, St Mary’s expects to hire 8-10 specialized staff members, including surgeons, physician assistants, nurses and technicians.
